How to Tie Dye Socks - A Fun Activity

If you're wondering how to tie dye socks then this article will show you how it's done. Most people don't tie their socks because they think that it's too hard or complicated, and many end up making their tie dye socks horrible looking and gross. I've tried it all, from plain-colored socks with a pattern on them, to crazy colored socks that have big, star shapes printed all over them, even crazy striped socks! The worst part is that sometimes, all the embarrassment ends up making the socks worthless...for lack of a better term. This article will show you how to tie dye socks properly so that you can have a fun time doing it, while still keeping yourself from looking like a complete idiot.

So what exactly is it that you need to do in order to perform this fun activity? First, you need to get the proper socks. Not every kind will work well for this, and it ultimately comes down to what kind of material you get your socks made out of. This might sound like common knowledge to some, but really, try to stick to socks which are at least 75% cotton and avoid anything that's silk or nylon. It might be rare to find socks which are 100% cotton these days, but if you can find them then by all means have at them!

Next, you will need to learn how to add dye to your socks. To do this, you will need to wear black eyelets (these are small thin black strips you can buy at any drug store) so that you can put the dye on the top of your socks. The easiest way to do this is to use the eyelets to spread the dye around your foot, making sure to cover the entire bottom of your foot. Then, take a section at the side of the sock and wrap it around the toe that you are going to dye, being careful not to leave any exposed skin.
